Taking a Family Vacation Aboard a Cruise Ship

Cruises aren’t only for romance, adults, and college kids. You can take your entire family on a cruise and have just as much fun as you would on any vacation. Many cruise ships today offer family cruise packages with fun stuff for kids and a good, clean atmosphere for the entire family. These usually don’t have the typical “partying” atmosphere as many spring break cruises and cruises for adults only. Let’s see what family vacation cruises have to offer.

Cruisin’ with the Kids

Kids might find a normal cruise boring, but with family cruises, there’s a long list of things to do. A cruise that caters to families and kids will allow you to have a great time without having to constantly come up with ways to entertain the kids. There are swimming pools with special kiddie stuff such as water slides or water games, video arcades, on-board games for kids of all ages such as shipboard Olympics, pizza parties, miniature golf, magic shows, sports, concerts, fun educational projects, and more. Some cruises have family-friendly movies and skating. Many offer on-shore kids’ adventures and tours to enjoy as you reach each destination.

Where to Go

A tough decision to make is where to go on a family vacation cruise. Some places are just not suitable for families. They might have too much of a party type atmosphere catering to couples or single young adults. Some places are just too boring for the family to enjoy. Compare cruise offerings to find a destination that caters to families with attractions such as zoos, children’s museums, amusement parks, water parks, tours of historic sites, or family fun centers. Teens might enjoy more adventurous activities such as snorkeling, parasailing, and hiking. When you exit the boat, you can pick and choose among several attractions to make the whole family happy.

Some great cruise destinations for families include Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida (with Disney Cruises), islands of the Caribbean, Hawaii, California, and Alaska. European cruises are also great for families, allowing you to explore interesting sites in Europe by sea and land.

A Break for Parents

One luxury you’ll enjoy on a family cruise is you can take breaks from the kids occasionally. They can enjoy supervised games and activities while you relax in the Jacuzzi, enjoy a romantic dinner, try out a casino, or just sunbathe by the pool. Many cruises have a trained youth staff for various age groups to direct the children’s activities. A schedule of kid’s activities is provided so parents and kids will know how to plan each day.

Find the Perfect Family Cruise

Family cruises are easy to book using the Internet. Check out some of the main cruise lines to find out what they offer and what destinations are available. Some of the most popular are Disney Cruises, Carnival Cruise Lines, Princess, Norwegian Cruise Line, Crystal Cruises, and Costa Cruise Lines. You can easily choose a cruise package that will fit your family’s budget. But be sure to book a cruise that offers activities your family will enjoy. It should be a vacation to please everyone.

Some online resources to book a family cruise are Travelocity, Expedia, Travelzoo, and Orbitz. You can usually get discounted tickets by securing an all-inclusive family cruise package. An all-inclusive cruise will include meals, lodging, transportation, and some forms of entertainment. Be sure to find out what’s included and what’s not so you’ll know how to plan financially for the trip.

If your family vacations seem a little drab lately, a family cruise can provide the new, thrilling adventure your family has been longing for!

Quick Clips – Colecovision – 002 – Cabbage Patch Kids: Adventures in the Park

Quick Clips Colecovision Series #002 – Cabbage Patch Kids: Adventures in the Park Footage captured directly from a Colecovision system through RF Connection. Aside from the fact it’s a game based on the Cabbage Patch Kids, it’s not a bad game. It’s kind of like a cross between Pitfall and the Smurfs game. When you start the game you can go either right or left and the same screens will appear although you’ll be going left to right instead of right to left. In fact, if you go left, the game will be a little easier because the bouncing blue balls will be bouncing with you instead of against you. The screen will repeat themselves often except they keep getting more difficult the further you go, although it is strange that some of the screens have no obstacles on them. The hardest thing about the game is the character control. The jump is mighty weak and you often have to get right next to object before you can begin to jump in order to clear it. The character also has to be in the right spot to grab on ropes and if you walk off a ledge or jump from the wrong ledge, you’ll lose a life no matter what the distance was. The game is kind of frustrating at first, but grows on you a little once you grasp the controls. Overall, it’s not bad. I just wish I didn’t have to look at that ugly Cabbage Patch Kid the whole game.

School Kids and Adventure

Schools can be demanding; even stressful. But do teachers take notice? Even parents pressurize their children to work harder than usual and the consequences are that quiet a few at a very early age have spectacles or suffer from depression. And that is the case with most of the kids these days.

You may ask does life revolve at books, home works and tuitions? No, there is adventure, its thrill and the freshness it spreads. There are several adventure tourism companies that bring this newness in the life of school kids. Seasonal adventure camps or day picnics are organized by them. These camps are filled with several activities.

If the adventure camp is organized in a hilly region it might have rock climbing, rappelling and trekking as the major activities. If the camp is at a sea side then there chances you might get to try out water sports; scuba diving, snorkeling, motor boats, kayaks and what not. If your school has organized your camp near snow clad mountain tops you might as well ski a little. Yes there is no dearth of adventure activities and organizations who have taken to organizing adventure camps for school kids.

Generally adventure camps are designed for the tough and experienced. But adventure tourism companies these days are made for the kids keeping their temperament in mind. When I say this, it means kids state of mind is kept in mind while organizing such tours. Expect some talk sessions with kids, meals together with kids, games that get them cracking up with laughter or even normal interactions which boosts their self esteem of the kids.

Not only are these adventure camps good as outings but they also serve several other purposes. If you are a teacher and knowing your students is an extremely important part of teaching them then adventure tours are the best place to discover them. If you’re a parent and see your kid drag his 5 kilo backpack to and fro school everyday and are worried about him, it is time you send him to an adventure camp. Because when he meets the same old friends and new ones in a surrounding different from the usual one, when he gets a chance to test his own skills and when he is able to let himself loose because there are no pressures of course work or examinations he will definitely bloom and become a confident person.

These adventure activities instill in kids a sense of responsibility. They also empower them and make them confident. Don’t be surprised if I say these adventure activities help kids become smarter. They take the hardships, become stronger. They perform tasks, sit around with friends and teachers and learn to open. Interactions in free surroundings really help children de stress them.

It is very important for schools to organize such tours from time to time that involve activities other than school work. It is equally important that kids show equal interest in extra curricular activities. For if it is not now in the prime of life that they see nature from its closest, they will probably be too old to realize the importance of it later on.

Animal World Safari & Water Park ? Wildlife & Water Fun for the Whole Family

Stepping inside A’Famosa is like stepping into a whole different world. The park covers a whopping 150 acres of land, and you can be a child again as you are taken on a safari to see lions, tigers, giraffes, zebras and camels among the 150 species of animals that A’Famosa is home to.

There are rabbits and ponies to pet as you stroll along, for the not so stouthearted. Did you think chickens laid eggs and that’s all they are for? When you see the Chicken Farm, you will see that there is a lot more to crowing cock-a-doodle-doo than you thought, for you will meet rare species of chicken. If you want to be entertained, turn to our less sophisticated cousins on Monkey Island – you can get there on a raft and enjoy the show.

The A’Famosa Water World is a thrilling joyride that will dance to the pace you set. You can choose the throat-grabbing Seven Story Slide, or the calm, but enjoyable, Lazy River. A’Famosa Water World is a themed water park that meets stringent security and safety regulations, and has rides for everybody – whether you want a fun ride with the family or something that will leave your heart in your throat.

Arabian Village is a fantasy world for children, for them to indulge in their dreams and have their own fun in their world. The Kids’ Adventure Pool will have the children laughing and screaming, while you can rest assured that they will be completely safe.

This is a place the family can go to to make old and maybe forgotten dreams come true, or to find new ones. After all, everybody needs something new – what could be better than a safari?

Once you arrive in the city, it’s wise to choose a budget hotel in Kuala Lumpur if you intend to stay for a long time and visit many places.

Today Flash is supposed to be one of the most approved and universal instrument in use for making united content. With the lapse of time flash became a powerful basis for games development. Owing to Flash casual games which were played earlier transformed into high tech, advanced games. Today good time in World Wide Web is placed chiefly on flash games which are easy to establish and cause heavy hang-up among players.
Being a tool of enormous suitability for public content, flash includes the greater number of necessary characteristics which are necessary for game addition. It is feasible to make the whole game system in the time of few hours; besides, to do this with great art and in a plain packaged model. Humans are able to play this game on PC, Mac or Linux, thanks to the Net provider or offline. The prevailing idea for this quickly produced capability is supposed to be the so called hierarchical viewable object model in Flash.
Flash is a prevalent thing and is going together with Windows on the majority of PCs. That’s why about 96% of the gamesters must download only the games themselves and nothing more. Flash is one of the most attractive animation tools and is your route from fine game to the Net game or vice versa is distinct and plain in Flash. One of the benefits is the opportunity to make a turning from a complete game to a internet form and vice versa from the internet form to complete downloadable game.
Today we can differentiate few sorts of free of cost virtual Flash Games which consider sport, action, puzzle, adventure, gallery and racing. The most popular Flash Games are Bomb it, Bubble Shooter, Maple Story, MahJong Connect, Crazy Arcade, Street Rally, Kid Adventure, Flash Crisis, Super Mario 64 and, at last, China Open Tennis.

Yippee! I Said “Yes” To A Cruise! Now Where Should I Go And Why?

Taking a cruise can be one of the most exciting vacations that you take in your lifetime. Adventure, relaxation, exploration, extravagant parties, exquisite dining, free entertainment, and eye-opening experiences are all yours to be had when you book a cruise with Princess Cruise Lines or another popular line. A cruise vacation literally puts the world at your doorstep. Imagine being able to step out of your stateroom to a different exotic view each and every morning or being able to watch the sun set in a different port of call each evening.

The truth of the matter is that cruise vacations are unparalleled when it comes to providing an unforgettable experience crammed packed with more variety than you could ever believe possible from a week-long vacation. But you need to be careful when choosing your package because different destinations will provide you with completely different experiences. The size boat that you choose will also determine what types of ports that you will be able to see. As you can see, there are a lot of things to consider when choosing where to go on your the cruise of your dreams.

The destination of your cruise determines much more than just the type of scenery that you will see. Cruises to the Mediterranean are well-known for their party till the sun comes up itineraries. Sea voyages to Alaska, on the other hand, are more reserved and focus on sightseeing and wildlife. There are also trips that are very educational and will take you to see historical and ecological wonders. Others will slowly meander through tropical waters and make leisurely stops at brilliant white beaches. The bottom line is this: You can take a cruise to any part of the world that you would like to see and do virtually anything that you want to do. But first, you have to decide on a package.

Mediterranean packages are extremely popular, but you need to be careful when selecting your package since some itineraries are created with tourism in mind and others with nightlife and partying in mind. For example: Two different cruises to the Mediterranean may stop at the same ports of call but for entirely two different reasons depending on which ship you book on. The first ship might stop at Barcelona and Rome just like the second one but may feature guided tours to top tourist attractions. The second ship may avoid the tourist scene and focus instead on the culture and nightlife to be found in the area.

Keep in mind that different packages will attract different types of vacationers and that there are themed cruises that cater to a certain group of people. A slow-paced, educational theme may attract seniors where as a party cruise will attract young couples with no children. Mixing your vacation with a group of people that are your exact opposite may make for a long voyage rather than the fun trip that you had envisioned.

A typical Mediterranean cruise will include several ports of call including Barcelona, Villefranche, Rome, Naples and Florence. You will probably have an opportunity to visit all of the main tourist attractions such as Pompeii and the islands that hold the history and archeology of man’s earliest civilizations. You may find yourself water skiing, shopping till you drop in Barcelona, scuba diving or playing with the rich and famous in Monte Carlo.

If you prefer something a little more slow-paced without as many stops along the way, a voyage along the Alaskan inside passage might be just the thing. Inside passage cruises are so popular because they offer a close and unique view into the exotic beauty of Alaska’s ice-glazed land surfaces. Nearly 5% of this beautiful state is covered in ice fields in glaciers which provide a home for wildlife such as humpback whales, orcas, sea lions, dolphins, brown bears and bald eagles.

While you will be able to visit some hard to access ports such as Juneau, Skagway, Haines, Ketchikan and Victoria on an inland cruise, the majority of your time will be spent aboard ship watching the majestic glaciers slip by within feet of the ship. You will be able to visit and view botanical gardens, spectacular waterfalls, and quaint towns. Certain itineraries even give passengers the opportunity to land on Annette Island and to be greeted by the Tsimshian elders of Metlakatla.

But perhaps the best part about an Alaskan cruise is that it is calm, quiet, and less crowded than other types of cruises. Many destinations frequently visited on an Alaskan cruise are sparsely inhabited which makes for an experience that is entirely different from the shoulder-to-shoulder tourist feel of the Mediterranean’s top spots.

As you can see from just these two examples, your vacation could be as lively or relaxing as you wish to make it. You can also choose what types of people are on the ship with you by booking passage on a themed cruise. Some of the most popular theme cruises include gay cruises; adventure cruises; honeymoon cruises; family cruises; disabled cruises; singles cruises; and you can also go nude

There is no limit to the variety that can be found in a sea vacation. Young or old, gay or straight, single or married with kids, adventurous or laid back, it doesn’t matter; there is a cruise that is perfect for you. So pay attention to detail, examine your options, and book the vacation of a lifetime with Princess Cruise Lines or another popular line today.

Looking at the Bright Side of the Economy

The resorts, cruise lines and tour agencies are sensitive to economic woes, so they are cutting their prices down like I have never seen in my 20 years in this business. Whether you are looking for a family vacation, maybe a Romantic Getaway or a trip with your friends, my top picks for this week fit all of the above!

I found 6 incredible deals that fit different travelers’ needs.

1) Barbados All Inclusive, Barbados Beach Club: The deal of the century: 9 per person includes airfare, 5 nights hotel including food, drink and entertainment! The Barbados Beach Club is located directly on the beach of the scenic south coast, a stone’s throw away from the very best in shopping and nightlife. This all inclusive offers three restaurants, nightly entertainment and a dedicated area for families. The main hotel is for singles and couples, this resort carefully separated the families from the rest so everyone has an environment to fit their needs. Barbados Beach Club mealtimes are leisurely and informal at the Poolside Restaurant and bar. The main restaurant is open 7 days weekly and serves buffet breakfast, lunch, dinner and evening tea. On Sundays, enjoy the Bajan Brunch Buffet with delectable local dishes … simply described as the best buffet in Barbados. If you are looking for something quieter and more upscale, Benvenuti! Venetos serves á la carte Italian cuisine or overlooking the Caribbean Sea, Sea Rocks Restaurant offers a unique dining experience with impeccable service.

2) Jamaica All Inclusive, Fun Holiday Beach Resort, Negril, Jamaica: I have been going to Negril for 15 years and what I love most about it is I still feel that REAL Jamaica feeling, there are still shops that are shacks with native food, music and drink. Yes, Negril has become more touristy over the years, but there is still an ambiance of Island Reggae making you feel that you have left civilization for a calmer, simpler life. Negril is also one of the best beaches in all of the Caribbean. Across from the beach, The Fun Holiday Resort is a simple all inclusive resort in a good location offering Fun Time Band for live reggae 2 nights a week at the beach restaurant that features seafood and Jamaican cuisine! For more late night fun, check out the disco across the street! On premises car, jeep, jet- ski and scooter rentals for when you aren’t spending time in your air conditioned room watching the cable TV or listening to the optional CD player or ordering Room Service from the beach restaurant! All food and drinks in the restaurants are included. 9 per person includes airfare to Jamaica, transfer to the hotel, 7 nights hotel, food, drink, and some activities. You can not leave Negril without taking a ride to Rick’s café – where there is cliff diving and some of the most beautiful sun sets I have ever seen.

3) Exclusives at Club Med and SuperClubs: For those who do not know about these two chains, Club Med is an all inclusive (not including soda or alcoholic drinks) that has a property to fit every person. Properties are categorized as singles, couples (adults only) and families. The family Club Meds are the best for children, with continuous activities for all. Club Med is also known for very unique sports and activities. Currently Pavlus Travel is offering exclusive specials as low as 3 per person. All 2008 Club Med vacations are on sale!

SuperClubs also offer all inclusives for all needs. Unlike Club Med, Super Club includes alcoholic beverages. Super Club has Grand Lido, an amazing adult “spa” resort, that is quite simply, heavenly! Breezes and Star Fish are for families, especially fun for the little ones and Hedonism is one of the best known singles getaways. Pavlus Travel is offering 12% off all SuperClub land packages – you can’t find that anywhere!

4) Atlantis, Paradise Island: Even the more upscale resorts like Atlantis in Paradise Island is offering air fare credits, 35% off regular rates and meal plan deals for children. Atlantis is perfect for families, with the Aqua Tots program for children 3-12, Discovery Kids Adventure and the Atlantis Kids’ Club; children’s pools throughout the property, in room babysitting and a “Gentle Travel” kit for babies including tips from Dr.Trachtenberg, a lullaby CD, a nightlight and variety of JOHNSON’S© best baby products. Don’t worry; this is also a singles/couples without children destination as well. This large resort and casino which dominates the island’s real estate, is a mega-plex of fun and excitement. They have everything for those of us that feel that money is no object (they house one of the world’s most expensive hotel suites in the world – ,000 per night) to those of us that are more price savvy.

The Caribbean’s largest casino offers over 1,000 of the newest slot machines each equipped with state of the art player tracking system. Atlantis features 21 restaurants and 19 bars and lounges offering everything from fine dining to quick-and-easy favorites. When you venture outside to the grounds, immerse yourself in water experiences unlike any other. Innovative new slides and rides that redefine water fun allow guests to enjoy the water in a variety of ways all day long without ever leaving it.

So, what is the deal? This luxurious resort usually runs around 0- 0 per night. Currently they are offering 35% off plus 0 Air Credit when you book 3nts or more. There are also deep savings with the kids dining plan where kids 6 and under eat free, this will save tons of money if you take advantage of it. A 3nt package is only 9 per adult, use code XDH386.

5) Family Friendly Resorts at Shell Vacations Hospitality: These unique resorts are great for families, however, don’t turn away if you do not have children; these resorts have something for everyone. If you want to stay in the U.S. for your Summer/Fall vacation, consider staying at one of the Shell Hospitality resorts. Currently they are offering 15% of their regular rates plus a gas card to help you out with driving around. Resorts are located in California, Arizona, Hawaii, Texas, Nevada and Canada. Teach the kids some history and take the family to the Alamo staying at Hill Country Inn & Suites at Salado Creek Villas. This is a seven acre resort with a Texas Hill Country charm and comfortable accommodations such as ranch style porches, 2 oversized Jacuzzis surrounded by lush garden greenery, daily continental breakfast, outdoor swimming pool, children’s playground and barbecue grills and picnic tables throughout the property.

6) Orlando Vacations: When we say Orlando, we think Disney, Universal, Sea World, and tons of other family entertainment fun. Yes, there are tons of expenses on this trip – so the hotel really can not be one of them. So you want to be on Disney property because it is convenient and easy, but think it is too expensive? I found a deal for per night inside Disney, including breakfast and up to 0 off in half price Gas. Stay inside of Disney with continuous shuttles to all the Disney parks, FREE continental breakfast for two guests each day, a Food and Beverage Credit to be used at the hotel plus other great Best Western amenities like free wireless internet throughout the hotel and private balconies to relax on. For those who want a more upscale hotel, the famed Swan & Dolphin is offering amazing holiday, Summer and Fall rates.

5 Cheap Fall Activities for Moms with Toddlers & Preschoolers

Moms understand that as the Fall season approaches and the weather begins turning colder, in many regions of the U.S. its time to come up with alternative activities for kids aside from the standard outdoor selections.  While some Fall toddler and preschooler activities can be weather permitting, our suggestions below are all indoor and offer moms a chance to have a fun afternoon with their kids while not breaking the bank in the process.

1) Duckpin Bowling or Bumper Bowling – Check with your local bowling alley and most will inform you of a 1/2 off day or /game special, usually midweek during the afternoon hours.  Most bowling alleys are slow during the day and need customers thus offering deep discounts to take advantage of.  Try to get them to include free shoe rental as part of the deal as most will do so.  Even toddlers and preschoolers can participate in Duckpin or Bumper Bowling and have a blast.

2) Day at the Library – How quickly moms forget how much fun kids have at the library.  Most public libraries have library storytimes and toddler events on a weekly basis in the Fall.  Even if there’s not a storytime or event going on, kids love libraries.  Usually loaded with comfy beanbag chairs and puzzles for the youngsters, these types of preschoolers activities usually are a winner and best of all free.

3) Kids Movie Days – Unbeknownst to many moms, some local movie theaters have a day of the week where they offer cheap movies for moms with toddlers and young children only.  Usually on a Tuesday or Wednesday during off peak times, theatres offer kid themed movie showings that allow kids to be kids.  No worries about being too noisy or sitting still.  If your kid truly wants to watch the movie, this might not be the choice for you!  Usually a nice reprieve for moms but bring your own food as they’ll get you on the full priced popcorn and drinks.

4) Attend a Local Hockey Game — If there’s a local hockey rink in your area, guaranteed there are many hockey games going on throughout the day and night.  if your child enjoys sports or just watching other kids, they’ll love watching other kids playing hockey.  Whether its a high school match or just a scrimmage or tot league, its usually free or minimal in cost.  These rinks tend to be very loud and echo filled so kids noise is easily drowned out.  Don’t worry about paying for a soda or for nachos in these establishments either.

5) Arts and Crafts — Call up a local arts and crafts store and ask if they have any upcoming demonstrations or ‘how to’ classes directed towards kids.  Usually these classes are meant to drum up future business and draw in moms to purchase supplies and thus are free or minimal cost.  Sometimes you’ll have to pay for the supplies used during the class so make sure to choose wisely but it usually ends up in an enjoyable crafts for kids adventure.

Have a wonderful Fall 2010!

Promoting physical activity through adventure holidays

Adventure holidays are a great way to have a healthy holiday abroad with activity and outdoors exercise to promote activity among a group of children. Kids adventure holiday activities are wide ranging and perfect for large groups such as schools to take part in.

Taking a school group to an outdoors adventure holiday can be one of the best choices you could make when planning a school trip. It combines the healthy aspects of being outdoors in the sunshine as well as promoting physical activity, with the fun and enjoyment that children often find in taking part in group activities with friends.

There are a whole host of various adventure holiday types available, with activities ranging vastly from watersports such as sailing and windsurfing, to rock climbing and mountain biking.

Watersports activities include:

Sailing

An ever popular activity, sailing involves a boat that is propelled by wind power, with a sail that draws the boat along the water. This is a great group activity, with various team members tending to specific and essential aspects of sailing a boat.

Windsurfing

This is similar to sailing, except instead of sitting in a boat, you are standing on a surf board type device. Due to its nature it is more of a solo activity, and can be great for promoting healthy competition between groups.

Kayaking

Similar to canoeing, but with an open top to the boat style vehicle, meaning that it is perhaps more enjoyable in the summer – the kayak being propelled by an oar that you propel through the water in order to gain traction.

Raft building

A perfect team building exercise, as participants must work as a team in order to successfully build a raft that will not only look good as a raft, but will actually float properly. In addition to this, the raft will also have to be able to sail in calm waters without falling apart. This is in fact harder than it looks, as the pressure of the water below and passengers on top will push the raft pieces apart. As alluded to, the raft will also have to be able to support passengers in its short voyage into a shallow lake, and so must be made to a high standard if you don’t want to end up in the water.

Other activities include:

Nature trails

Perfect for the afternoon or day after one of the more physically strenuous activities, these nature trail walks involve a gentle stroll along pre planned nature walks that will educate as well as providing a pleasant gentle activity for tired students.

Cycling

Along similar lines to the nature trails, cycling is a more physically strenuous alternative that allows students to travel through scenic countryside with the added fun of bike transport.

Classic Christmas Poinsettias | Christmas Poinsettia Ideas

“They don’t make ‘em like they used to.” You hear this said about everything – cars, houses, toys, clothes… Well, they don’t make TV shows like they used to, either. If you grew up watching classic TV, you probably have some very fond memories of sitting in front of the television with your family watching some of the classics at night. There are very few modern television shows that the whole family can sit down and watch together. Either they are geared towards kids and the grown ups aren’t interested or they are geared for adults and are inappropriate for the kids.

There is good news for families who would like to share some time in front of the television together, though. Many of the classic TV shows are being released on DVD, usually a season at a time. Families can now enjoy TV classics from the 50′s, 60′s 70′s, and 80′s on DVD’s that include lots of extras like interviews with the cast members and outtakes.

One of the biggest perks of watching the shows on DVD – no annoying commercials. Today, we’re used to watching television on our terms. We fast forward through commercials on shows we’ve recorded on DVRs. When these classic shows first aired, there was no fast forwarding. Viewers had to sit through the commercials or flip the channel (sometimes manually!) often only to find more commercials.

Think about it. You can now introduce your kids to TV classics such as Happy Days, season by season and show them the first time a television show literally “jumped the shark.” Retro is cool right now, and it doesn’t get much more retro than Happy Days. It was retro from the day it debuted.

What’s available on classic TV DVD? Just about anything you’re interested in.

Variety Shows. Remember a few years back when Nick and Jessica attempted a Christmas special variety show? If your kids were interested in that, then they would probably be interested in The Sonny and Cher Show or The Donny and Marie Show. Sure these 70′s shows were high on the cheese factor, but the performers had some real talent.

Another great variety show from the 70′s that the family will love is The Carol Burnett Show. You’d be amazed at how much today’s kids appreciate good, clean, funny comedy when they are actually exposed to it.

Some of the best episodes of variety shows were the Christmas specials. Sonny and Cher and Donny and Marie had their share of Christmas specials, but the master of the Christmas special was Bob Hope. Many of his classic Christmas variety shows are available on DVD.

Classic Sitcoms. I Love Lucy. The Honeymooners. The Dick Van Dyke Show. Leave it to Beaver. The Brady Bunch. The Beverly Hill Billies. The Cosby Show. Family Ties. The Jeffersons. Happy Days. Mash. The Monkees. Did you sit around watching these shows (or reruns of these shows) with your family when you were a kid? Chances are you did. All of these classic television sitcoms are available on DVD. Wouldn’t it be great to sit back with your kids and a great big bowl of popcorn and watch The Cosby Show’s Claire Huxtable tell her husband Cliff to please go upstairs and kill the children? Now that’s classic tv.

Classic Drama/Adventure. Most dramas fall into the one hour crime show genre nowadays. They aren’t always pleasant to watch and they certainly aren’t appropriate for the kids. Adventure type shows like 24 or Prison Break aren’t for the kids either. But McGyver. Now there’s a show the whole family can watch together and learn a thing or two about how to make a bomb from a piece of chewing gum, a paperclip and a pencil.

Kids adventure during fun-filled holidays

Kids adventure is well known for a broad spectrum of exciting and interactive activities. It is an excellent way of introducing kids to a whole new range of experiences. Adventure holidays are exciting and enriching right from winter sports to summers spent on the shores. Children will have a great time enjoying the outdoors to the fullest, as many of them waste their times inside playing console-based games. It also helps to improve their social skills as they get a chance to interact with the children of their own age.

Kids adventure holidays can be of two forms; some involving the parents while the other one without the parents. The one which is suited to the whole family, parents relax while professionals take their children on excursions. Family-style parks have also been introduced at some places which help in building stronger minds and bodies by involving everyone in its various activities. Very young children with the assistance of their parents can also get involved in the various activities, which helps boost their mental abilities. In the other form, children learn to live independently on their own, without their parents. Summer or winter camps can be a rewarding experience, packed with exciting games and prizes to allure the kids.

Professionals in charge of  kids adventure holidays usually have age specific activities. There is no risk involved as the activities are perfectly tailored for children of all ages and abilities. Activities such as cycling, rock climbing, horse riding, snow boarding, skiing, surfing will challenge your child and will help them know what they are capable of. It will also at the same time help them get closer to the nature.
